SERVICES AND FUNDS
LOCAL INVESTMENT FUND
The Local Investment Fund seeks to support the creation of real, sustainable jobs, and promote the start-up and growth of small and medium-sized businesses by facilitating access to start-up and growth capital for traditional or social economy enterprises, through the provision of loans guaranteed by the MRC de Deux-Montagnes Local Development Centre (CLD).
MENTORING: SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
Mentoring fosters people skills, but it is above all a voluntary activity, which becomes a privileged relationship between an experienced entrepreneur and a young business leader. This type of rapport develops into a relationship based on mutual respect, confidence and the personal commitment of both individuals, an experience which both parties find enjoyable.
REGIONAL GROWTH INVESTMENT FUND
The MRC de Deux-Montagnes Regional Growth Investment Fund (FRIC) manages an investment fund mandated to support the growth of businesses operating in the MRC de Deux-Montagnes, by way of direct loans.
RURAL ISSUES
The approach used in rural development is similar to the one used in local development. It is characterized by a medium to long-term community effort to bring about social change, which involves the community taking over the management of resources. Rural development issues include different lifestyles, local services, the environment, demographics, local knowledge, rural heritage, agriculture, the out-migration of young adults, an aging population, and the development of businesses capable of capitalizing on local natural resources. The Local Development Centre (CLD) offers the support of a rural development commissioner, who provides leadership, mobilization and technical support for rural community initiatives.
SELF-EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT
Self-employment support is an initiative, which seeks to help entrepreneurs by monitoring their progress, providing them with technical advice and financial support to enable them to function independently in the market place, by starting up or developing their businesses or by becoming self-employed. This initiative is coordinated by the MRC de Deux-Montagnes Local Development Centre (CLD) and financed by Emploi-Québec. The enterprise must operate in the MRC de Deux-Montagnes.
SOCIAL ECONOMY INVESTMENT FUND
The Social Economy Investment Fund provides financial help to social economy businesses by way of a one-time grant for starting, consolidating or expanding a project.
START-UP FUND
The Start-Up Fund seeks to promote entrepreneurship among young people (35 and under) who want to start up their first or second business by offering them technical and financial support, and to support the creation of real, sustainable jobs by granting subsidies of up to $10,000 depending on the sector and the program for which the request is being made.
